Berjaya Group ignites hope in Tanglaw GK Village at Mobo, Masbate

Heroism is evident among the hearts of every Filipino.

In the midst of all occasions nowadays, mostly tragic, we’ve proven yet again that even in the most difficult times, we Filipinos find ways to get back up, smile and start again. This evident trait among us is viral, catching the eyes and hearts of not only our own race, but the whole world. Stories of heroism are abundant in our history. Faces of suffering, loss, tragedy and death, before, are our standards of how and what a hero should be and should do. Now, we are able to prove that being a hero doesn’t mean a life for a life. It doesn’t mean death and t doesn’t mean tragedy. In these days, heroism for us, means hope. It means faith. It means love, in all aspects of it.

In its continuous pledge of helping the unfortunate get back up and move on in a better light, GAwad Kalinga in partnership with Berjaya Group Philippines once again ignite the hope in the hearts of the people in Mobo, Masbate. The ceremonial turnover and ribbon cutting ceremony held in Tanglaw GK Village last September 21, 2013 were lead by Berjaya Group Philippines country head Paul Soo, Mayor Percival Castillo, Vice Mayor Marife Lupango of Mobo, Vice Governor Vicente Homer Revil, SP Jamon Espares, Fr. Cristino Atazar, PNP Dep. Provincial Director, Psupt. Jeffrey Fernandez. The occassion was very festive yet light at the same time because all the happy faces of the GK Kapitbahayans. Houses in different colors are a testament of the strong will and indestructible hope of the families who were once just living in the dark side of their lives. It is in Berjaya Group’s topmost priority to give these people a home as their stepping stone to a better life shows how far a caring and helping heart go.
