Gawad Kalinga (GK), with volunteers and partners, culminated its 21st Anniversary in a Gala Night of Bayanihan on October 4 at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City.
Berjaya Corporation Founder Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan graced the occasion being a staunch corporate partner of GK for nearly thirteen years and as the biggest foreign donor of GK.
In Tan Sri’s speech, he said, “Twelve years ago I signed up with The Giving Pledge that I will donate more than half of my wealth away and I’m doing it and so, helping GK is part of it.” He stressed the importance of taking care of the poor so that the country will be a better one.
With poverty alleviation and nation-building as the advocacy of this Philippine-based non-governmental organization, the theme of the celebration is to dream of the future, towards 2050 building together a 3Zero World.
